Farthest Star - Lyrics:

Second Chance

Second chance
Who needs a second chance,
When you’ve got something no one ever wants to touch

Second chance
Who needs a second chance,
When you’ve got something no one ever wants to touch

Where did it go?
Content to throw it all away

I’ll never know
That’s ok ‘cause I’d forget anyway

We can make a plan
Take it where we can and work for us
Take my weary hand
Take it where you can, and work for us
Work for us

Where did it go?
Content to throw it all away
I’ll never know
That’s ok ‘cause I forgive everything
I forgive everything

Easy Feel Alright

Easy now before you go and mess the whole thing up
"Isn’t that what you wanted?"
Actually it’s not

‘Cause I feel alright but there’s something I can’t find
I feel alright but there’s something I can’t find inside

Something inside broken
All I want is to get it out
Cut it out

Drained my soul to nothing
Maybe that way I’d never drown
But look at me now

Pieces of broken words are dropping from my mouth
Isn’t that what you wanted? Just to get it out?
‘Cause I feel alright, but there’s something I can’t find
I feel alright, but there’s something I can’t find inside

Something hides
Crawling upward
Upward, upward
Upward and in
Awkward
Awkward
Awkward, again

The Sound

The sound of something beautiful
From miserable like you
Maybe someone like you know

This time the pain is physical
It weighs on me, impossible
An instant, unattainable to you

Listen for the sound
Listen for the sound
Listen for the sound
Listen for the sound

In this town, it’s not unusual for someone lovable to be laying low at home alone
Sirens blare, it’s critical
Always arid, clinical
Not what I intended it to be

Listen for the sound
Listen for the sound
Listen for the sound
Listen for the sound

Wrong Touch

Wrong touch
I’ve got the wrong touch
I’ve got the wrong touch
I’ve got the wrong touch
I’ve got it wrong

Someone likes it
Someone likes it wrong
Someone likes it
Someone likes it wrong

Wrong touch
I’ve got the wrong touch
I’ve got the wrong touch
I’ve got the wrong touch
I’ve got it wrong

Someone likes it
Someone likes it wrong
Someone likes it
Someone likes it wrong

Crooked Times

Are you feeling the same pull?
Are we half what makes a whole?
Is it taking the same toll on you?

When it comes inside my thoughts
Then all thinking stops
If I traded it for naught, is it real?

Sign of these crooked times
Let it bend until it breaks
Sign of these crooked times
Let it bend until it breaks

New Light

You’re taking over empty parts
Feeding like you starve
Take it
Take it all apart
Deconstruct your heart

Sorry son, you’ll be alright
No wasting your gift
When it’s time, you’ll get it right
No wasting your gift
New light will open your eyes

It’s all part of understanding
Pawing in the dark
This uniform goes back generations
Dress me up in the dark
Dark

Sorry son, you’ll be alright
No wasting your gift
When it’s time, you’ll get it right
No wasting your gift
New light will open your eyes

The Ghost

Know what?
The song goes and goes
The song goes and goes
But is it good?

So what
The song goes and goes
The song goes and goes
But is it good?

Transformation

Relax, and you can enjoy the ride
A transformation every time
One life that you get at a time
A transformation every time

A second look at another day
Allow the clouds to turn from black to gray
One last opinion for the mind:
Change is lovely, but’s it’s so unkind

Hold my light, won’t you?

Who laughs at you kid, but the time?
A transformation every time
A transformation every time

The Inside

I’ve seen it on the inside
I’ve seen it from within
I’ve been there at least one time
And I can’t go there again

Don’t address the problem or the problem comes alive
And I become the problem
And the problem is my life
The problem is my life
And so am I

I sing my song forever
Light will come
All in perfect time
All in perfect time

Dream it on the inside
Dream from within
Drag it out from inside
And never let it in again
Never let it in again

I sing my song forever
Light will come
All in perfect time
All in perfect time

Far Away

I say something to no response
Irresponsible
If all my problems are really cool
Then I am freezing cold

It’s far away from my soul
I don’t know
Is there a way to come home?
I don’t know how

Pity party
Open note
Hit that open note
Hearts departed
Left alone
Hit that open road

It’s far away from my soul
I don’t know
Is there a way to come home?
I don’t know how

Touch your undiscovered
Touch your undiscovered
Touch your undiscovered love
Love

It’s far away from my soul
I don’t know how
Is there a way to come home?
I don’t know how

Lonely Wander

Do I dare to wonder?
Feeling undercover
Peek into the abyss again
It leaves me feeling cold

Some old person’s daughter
Is clinging to me heart again
I don’t think I should bother her
But this chance won’t come again

Too much lonely wander
Drifting through the fog again
I’m giving up my cover
And I leave it for the kids

If I had an answer
I would not be standing here
I’d take my little honor and leave
Evacuate this land

Too much lonely wander
Turned out not to bother me
I can’t feel what I’m under
But the weight still keeps me pinned
So I’ll wait

Farthest Star

Hey, disappearing ghost
Kneeling in the shadow
Patiently unknown
Alone with me it travels
No easy explanation
I’m sane enough to know what’s wrong
Stupid little thoughts stuck on greener grass and evil fiction

Farthest star to the naked eye
Mindless part of a heartless rhyme

Wait, what’s that weight?
Something I can’t pretend doesn't exist
Space, lost in space
Something I never said, comes floating back in

Farthest star to the naked eye
Mindless part of heartless rhyme

Growing faster, like a cancer
Who am I?
Fallen castle, plastic asshole
Who am I?

Somebody take me home for good
Somebody take me home for good
Somebody take me home for good
Somebody take me home for good

The Feeling Comes

The feeling comes in unknown ways, like today
I let it walk right up to me and remain
Relax, ‘cause no one ever knows where it goes
We laugh at nothing ‘cause we know
Yeah, we know

Back when was was
Back when was was
Back when was was
I’ll be here until the feeling comes

We search for the connection
The words don’t explain that much
The hurt smarts
It’s kinda dumb
We yearn for the feeling of back when was was

Back when was was
Back when was was
I’ll be here until the feeling comes

Back when was was
Keep it still on the wall
That’s just one less place to go

Like an ocean, deeper still
Amoeba one day learn themselves to crawl in revolt
That was the only way I knew
The only way
